Kopilotti Sales

Controlled digital car sales, beyond the lead.

Kopilotti Sales helps dealers and automotive platforms progress customers from interest and negotiation toward a verified transaction, while commercial decisions remain under dealer control.

The LLM converses. The backend decides.

Concept demonstrator – does not require strong identity verification and does not create a binding offer. Payments, financing and vehicle handover are always handled in the dealer's own systems.

Challenge

Interest peaks when no one is there to answer it

  • Buyers browse cars in the evenings, at night and on weekends — outside dealer opening hours.
  • Interest is highest at the exact moment a salesperson or trade-in manager is unreachable.
  • Price negotiation easily stalls waiting for manual approval.
  • That delay can break the buying decision entirely.
  • Kopilotti Sales gives the customer an immediate, controlled next response.

The goal is to shorten the time between a customer's offer and the dealer's response.

Researched buying behaviour

The buyer is already online when the deal gets decided

The used-car buying journey most often starts online. 90% of buyers research online, and price influences the choice for 72%. Almost a third are ready to complete the purchase digitally. Yet price negotiation still often waits for a salesperson or trade-in manager.

  • 90% research the car online
  • 72% say price influences the choice
  • Almost 1/3 complete the purchase digitally

Kopilotti Sales brings this last manual step into the same digital buying journey.

Normal car retail

Digital price negotiation doesn't turn car retail into an auction

Not an auction. Not dynamic pricing. A digital price negotiation within the market price.

Kopilotti Sales is intended for the normal retail sale of used vehicles. It is not an auction, a bidding competition, or an automated clearance channel.

The vehicle is still sold at the market price and on the same terms the dealer has set, as in ordinary car retail. Digital price negotiation only operates within the dealer's own pre-defined business rules.

Before negotiating, the customer has access to the listing and the dealer's own condition report. The sale is ordinary consumer retail, subject to consumer-protection rights the same way as any other dealer consumer sale.

Digital price negotiation doesn't change the terms of the sale. It only removes unnecessary waiting when a decision can be made safely within the dealer's business rules.

Built for

A transaction layer for the platforms and groups around the dealer

  • For marketplaces

Keep more of the transaction within the marketplace ecosystem instead of handing the highest-value customer activity entirely to dealer-owned channels.

  • For dealer platforms

Extend inventory, CRM and dealer-management systems with a controlled customer-facing transaction flow.

  • For dealer groups

Let customers progress outside opening hours while the dealer retains control of pricing, stock, financing relationships and vehicle delivery.

Process

How it works

  1. Customer selects a vehicle

Kopilotti Sales opens per vehicle, from a listing page or the dealer's existing sales flow.

  2. Customer starts the price conversation

The digital salesperson holds a natural conversation with the customer and captures an offer.

  3. The system checks dealer-defined boundaries

The commercially critical decision is made server-side. Price boundaries are never stored in the browser or left for a language model to decide.

  4. Customer receives a response

The outcome can be an accepted offer, a controlled counter-offer, ending the negotiation, or escalating the case to the dealer.

Transaction layer

Price decisions belong in the digital journey, before checkout

E-commerce already handles vehicle discovery, identification, contracting and payment. Kopilotti Sales adds the missing step: the customer's offer, a bounded negotiation, and a deterministic price decision.

Current digital path

  1. Vehicle selection
  2. Condition report
  3. Fixed online price
  4. Identification
  5. Contract
  6. Payment

Kopilotti Sales

  1. Vehicle selection
  2. Condition report
  3. Offer + negotiation
  4. Deterministic price decision
  5. Checkout
  6. Contract
  7. Payment

Kopilotti Sales forms the agreed price and hands the customer to the dealer's own checkout, contract and payment process. Funds move directly from the customer to the dealer. Kopilotti does not receive, hold or transfer funds. The dealer confirms payment.

Trade-in and settlement

Trade-in is part of the same deterministic transaction decision

Trade-in V1 handles vehicle identification, an external valuation estimate, an offer, and the settlement amount as separate, traceable steps.

  1. Registration and odometer reading
  2. Vehicle identification
  3. External valuation
  4. Deterministic offer
  5. Settlement and deal summary

Production boundary: Trade-in V1 and DealSnapshot are implemented and tested in a separate implementation, but the trade-in path is not yet part of this public demonstrator's production traffic.

Distinction

What sets Kopilotti Sales apart from a chatbot

Typical chatbot

  • Answers general questions
  • Routes to customer service
  • Retrieves information from a knowledge base
  • Does not participate in price decision logic

Kopilotti Sales

  • Operates inside a specific vehicle's purchase context
  • Runs a bounded price negotiation
  • Uses commercial boundaries the dealer has defined
  • Can continue the conversation outside sales-staff hours
  • Escalates exceptions to a person

Kopilotti Sales does not need to replace the dealer's existing chat solution — it handles one bounded, commercially critical moment.

Lightweight onboarding

A pilot starts with a single link

Kopilotti Sales can go live without a multi-week integration project. The dealer adds one Negotiate the price link to a vehicle page, and deeper integrations are built only once the model has proven its value.

  1. Vehicle-specific magic link

The link carries only a random, opaque token, for example sales.kopilotti.online/n/8F3KD91X. Vehicle data and negotiation rules are fetched from the server — a floor or target price is never added to the URL.

  2. Kopilotti Admin

The dealer sets the list price, the lowest acceptable price, counter-offer steps, campaigns and a validity window. Admin generates the link and a ready-to-use HTML snippet for the vehicle page.

  3. API and integrations

Once the model is validated, link creation can be automated through DMS, e-commerce and CRM integrations, and through marketplaces' own APIs and partnership terms.

Pilot workload for the dealer: adding one link to a vehicle page. No mandatory DMS, CRM or marketplace integration.

Control

The dealer sets the negotiation boundaries. Kopilotti Sales operates only inside them.

A dealer can define negotiation terms, for example:

  • Per vehicle
  • Per vehicle group
  • Per price band
  • Based on a campaign
  • Based on stock position
  • As requiring manual approval

The model used is agreed during the pilot, matched to the dealer's own pricing process.

Safety and control

AI can support the conversation. Verified rules and provider states control the transaction.

  • The language model does not decide price boundaries.
  • The dealer's rules are processed server-side.
  • The browser must never know internal boundaries.
  • Exceptional cases can be routed to a person.
  • The customer's identity is verified before the actual price negotiation begins.
  • The number of automated negotiation rounds is limited, and the negotiation moves to the dealer when needed.
  • Commercial decisions and their basis are recorded traceably.
  • An unclear or incomplete situation does not automatically result in a price promise.
  • The dealer retains control over pricing.
  • The system does not independently grant credit or make financing decisions; financing applications are intended to be handled by the financing provider, in the provider's own environment.
  • The service does not receive, hold or transfer customer funds.

Getting started

Start with a bounded pilot

  1. Select a limited set of vehicles.
  2. Define the commercial boundaries for negotiation.
  3. Decide which cases escalate to a person.
  4. Integrate the required data.
  5. Monitor conversations and outcomes.
  6. Expand only after controlled testing.

Demo

See what a controlled digital price negotiation feels like

Concept demonstrator – does not require strong identity verification and does not create a binding offer. The demonstrator shows, from the customer's side, what a digital price negotiation can feel like. The vehicle, prices and dialogue are example data.

The current demonstrator models a Finnish dealer transaction. Market-specific financing, consumer-law, payment and vehicle-registration integrations would need to be implemented separately for each country. The interactive negotiation interface itself is presented in Finnish, reflecting that current scope.
